When Nicole Hagen decided it was time to go back to work full-time after taking time off to have children, she knew she needed a job that she would love going to every day. She found exactly that as the Staffing Coordinator for Hospice of the Northwest.
“I feel a sense of pride working for Hospice of the Northwest,” Nicole said. “Everyone you come into contact with are the most selfless, compassionate, incredible humans that I am fortunate enough to call my colleagues. Coming to Hospice of the Northwest has been one of my greatest joys in my career thus far.”
In her role as Staff Coordinator, Nicole has the privilege of scheduling patients for integrative therapies like massage, aromatherapy, clinical music, and more.
“Our foundation is so gracious that we have been able to contract these services for our patients,” she said.
Nicole also does the monthly nursing schedule and arranges the counselor on-call. Additionally, she coordinates volunteers to sit in vigil with a hospice patient and their loved ones as that patient’s life comes to end.
As the mom of four children and Millie, her long-hair chihuahua with an attitude, Nicole enjoys spending time with family by hiking local trails, road tripping, or camping. In rare moments to herself, she enjoys getting a pedicure, going for a walk to think, or blaring music on a drive. When asked “What would you do with a million dollars?”, her response was that she would take her family to visit Norway where their ancestors came from and then split up the rest among her kids for college.
