Hospice of the Northwest Welcomes Nursing & CNA Clinical Manager Kirsten Hackworth
Posted on February 13th, 2020
The Hospice of the Northwest team is excited to welcome Kirsten Hackworth as the new Clinical Manager. Actually, it is more like a “welcome back.” as Kirsten previously worked at Hospice of the Northwest as an RN Case Manager from 2004-2011.
After working in hospice for 7 years and seeing patients who were not able to follow through with their plans after retirement, Kirsten decided to move to Hawaii BEFORE she retired (just in case). She had lived there as a child and felt that the islands were calling her back. With her husband and youngest son, Kirsten spent 5 wonderful years on Oahu.
While in Hawaii she worked as a Manager for RN and MSW Case
Managers who worked with the aged, blind, and disabled Medicaid population. As
a team, they made visits and assessed caregiving and equipment needs to ensure
that patients had the support and equipment they needed to remain at home.
Kirsten recalls it as a very rewarding experience.
Several factors brought her back to the Pacific Northwest
in 2016. For the past two years she has worked as a Clinical Manager at
Providence Hospice of Seattle. Kirsten was very happy to return to hospice, and
says it has always been her heart’s work.
The Hospice of the Northwest team values the breadth of experience, commitment to excellence, and dedication to quality of life that Kirsten brings to her role as Clinical Manager. Please join us in welcoming Kirsten to our team!
