The Hospice of the Northwest Foundation is a separate 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation governed by a volunteer board of trustees, and as such is not for sale. If a change in the hospice agency’s ownership were to take place, the mission, vision and goals of the HNW Foundation remain the same – to fund dignity and compassion every moment of life. All assets held by the Foundation are used in support of its mission and donor intent and are under the control and management of the volunteer board of trustees. No assets of the Foundation would be part of a sale.
The Foundation will continue to fund the programs and services that are not required by Medicare’s Conditions of Participation for Hospice (as we have always done), and we will look into areas where we can expand our funding to include community education and planning about end of life and other programs that improve our community’s end of life experience. A change in ownership, even to a for-profit, does not end these programs; moreover the only barrier to continuation of these programs is lack of donor funding. Your gift today will provide community bereavement, integrative therapies like massage and music, direct patient support, and Veteran and pediatric specific care needs. Your gifts ensure quality of life at the end of life. Click here to make a gift now.
The needs of our community to die with dignity and compassion do not change with ownership changes of the agency, thus the work of the Hospice of the Northwest Foundation and our donors will continue with the same passion and dedication as always.
