Laurel has lived and worked in the region for over 30 years. She earned an M.Ed. in School Administration and Superintendent Certification and received multiple degrees from Western Washington University. Laurel has over 35 years of leadership experience, notably serving as the Superintendent of schools for Burlington-Edison School District from 2008-2023. She is a consultant for Leadership Search Consultants, the Mid-Day Burlington Rotary Club President, and a Trustee at the Museum of Northwest Art.

Laurel saw the tremendous value of Hospice of the Northwest when her mother-in-law passed, and she is excited to serve on the Hospice of the Northwest Foundation Board of Trustees.
