Growing Our Impact

The past year was one of unprecedented growth for Hospice of the Northwest. On October 25, we achieved a new record, caring for 245 patients across Island, San Juan, Skagit, and Snohomish Counties. This marks an impressive 11% increase from last year, and a staggering 131% rise since 2015. We are proud to have expanded our reach and impact in the community, ensuring more individuals and families receive the care they need during this crucial time.

CHAP Accreditation

Hospice of the Northwest was once again awarded CHAP Accreditation in 2023, demonstrating our commitment to uphold the industry’s highest nationally-recognized standards. During the CHAP survey, our team emerged with special accolades. Notably, our Volunteer and Bereavement programs were commended for being among the best in the nation. This recognition highlights the dedication and quality of our staff and volunteers in providing exceptional care and support to our patients and their circles of support.

Hospice CAHPS Honors Award

We are delighted to announce that we also received the Hospice CAHPS Honors Award in 2023. Presented by HEALTHCAREfirst, this annual award recognizes agencies that consistently deliver high-quality care. Our achievement is based on the analysis of CAHPS survey results, which measure patient and caregiver experience. Hospice of the Northwest scores above the national average on all CAHPS measures, inspiring confidence in the care we provide. We are proud to be the only hospice provider in Western Washington to have received this award in 2023.

Level 4 We Honor Veterans Designation

At Hospice of the Northwest, we are dedicated to honoring our Veterans and meeting their unique needs. That is why we are proud to announce that we have become a Level 4 Partner with the We Honor Veterans program. This designation recognizes our commitment to providing specialized care for Veterans and their families. Some of the ways we support our Veterans include a Veteran-to-Veteran volunteer program, pinning ceremonies to recognize their service and sacrifice, and an annual Memorial Day Flag Garden to honor the Veterans we have served over the past decade. We are honored to be able to serve those who have served us.

Heartfelt Gratitude

As we reflect on the past year, we want to our express heartfelt gratitude to our patients and their loved ones. We are deeply humbled by the trust you place in us and grateful for the opportunity to care for you during life’s most precious moments. Your strength, courage, and love continue to inspire us, and we feel privileged to have known you. Please know that you will always have a special place in our hearts. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey!
