Hospice of the Northwest is proud to announce the opening of our new Bereavement Support Center. Located next to our main office on Freeway Drive in Mount Vernon, the new space offers private offices for one-on-one counseling and a dedicated conference room for grief support groups.
Bereavement services are a vital part of the comprehensive care provided to hospice patients and their families. We offer counseling while the patient is on hospice and bereavement services for up to 13 months after a person’s loved one dies.
Our team of experienced masters-level social workers provides both group and individual grief counseling through convenient in-person and virtual meeting options. Just as each hospice patient benefits from an individualized care plan, their loved ones receive support tailored to their needs. This personalized approach may include support with:
- Developing healthy coping strategies and mechanisms
- Navigating and adjusting to new life circumstances
- Providing support with decision-making
- Being a place of comfort and offering helpful resources
These essential services are offered at no cost to family and close friends of Hospice of the Northwest patients, as well as the broader community—thanks to the generous support of Hospice of the Northwest Foundation donors. Our services aim to improve a person’s emotional well-being, equip them with coping skills, and reduce the risk of complicated grief during a challenging time.
