We are pleased to announce that Katie Davis, LICSW, APHSW-C, has been named as our new Counseling & Integrative Services Manager. Katie is a familiar and trusted face at Hospice of the Northwest, having served our patients and their circles of support as a hospice social worker since 2014. In her new role, she will lead our team of social workers, spiritual counselors, bereavement counselors, and integrative services practitioners.

Katie succeeds Leanna Anderson, LICSW, APHSW-C, who recently retired after nearly 20 years of dedicated service.

“Katie understands hospice work at its core and brings the clinical expertise, emotional intelligence, and collaborative leadership needed for this role. I leave with great confidence in her readiness to lead and genuine excitement for the future under her guidance.” -Leanna Anderson

Katie’s Path to Leadership

Katie began as an MSW student and quickly distinguished herself through her curiosity, compassion, and commitment to learning. She has grown into an exceptionally skilled hospice social worker, earning the trust of patients, their circles of support, and colleagues through sound clinical judgment, a calming presence, and strong advocacy.

Beyond her clinical role, Katie naturally took on committee work, projects, and mentoring, driven by a genuine desire to strengthen care and support her colleagues. Through these experiences, her leadership qualities became increasingly clear: she listens deeply, thinks critically, communicates with clarity and respect, and leads with both heart and integrity.

“It is with gratitude and excitement that I step into this leadership role. I am proud to lead such an exceptional team of counselors who bring compassion, strength, and hope to every family we serve.” – Katie Davis.

Honoring Leanna’s Legacy

Throughout her tenure, Leanna played a key role in shaping the exceptional care that defines Hospice of the Northwest today. She has been a trailblazer, leading the development of our integrative services program, establishing a transdisciplinary approach to care, and advancing trauma-informed care practices—all of which are now deeply rooted in our culture.

Leanna has been a strong advocate for keeping psychosocial, spiritual, and bereavement support at the forefront of patient care. Her leadership strengthened collaboration between disciplines and ensured every patient receives the dignified, holistic care they deserve.

She has also been a steady and thoughtful mentor, something that will carry forward through Katie’s leadership.

“As I conclude my 19 years as the Counseling and Integrative Services Manager, I do so with deep gratitude. It is reassuring to know that as I step away, this work continues in Katie’s capable and compassionate hands.” – Leanna Anderson

We are deeply grateful for Leanna and the lasting influence her leadership has had on our organization, our team, and the patients and families we serve.
